The Future of the RS Genetic Code: the View from Within

The Future of the RS Genetic Code: the View from Within

The ŠKODA VISION RS concept has given us a glimpse into its interior, where sportiness is combined with environmentally friendliness. Take a look at how the interior gained its features.

6. 9. 2018 CONCEPTS

The ŠKODA VISION RS will be making its world première at the Paris Motor Show in early October. Inside, it offers carbon, crystalline lighting effects and allusions to ŠKODA motorsport’s past and present success. Check out how the VISION RS’s interior contours were fashioned at the ŠKODA design studio in Prague:

The interior’s sporty DNA is reflected in carbon features (the centre console, for example, is wholly carbon fibre), the sports seats, and the specially designed loops replacing the door handles. The interior is decorated with hand-cut lead glass. The dashboard features special RS-design animations and offers lighting effects that interact with the infotainment system touchscreen.

ŠKODA VISION RS

Besides its athletic genes, the ŠKODA VISION RS is also highly considerate towards the environment in which we live. The carbon fibre is made from 100% recycled polyester and the seat covers are made from vegan Alcantara. For years now, our VISION concepts have pointed to the future direction of ŠKODA models and served as prototypes for subsequently mass-produced models.

Last March, the public was treated to the ŠKODA VISION X, a vision of a compact hybrid crossover that will soon be joining the KAROQ and KODIAQ to become the third pillar of ŠKODA’s SUV range.

The ŠKODA VISION E is a concept of a purely electric car that will be launched in 2020. It introduces a host of innovative solutions and signals what ŠKODA cars will look like in the new era of e-mobility.

The VISION RS, VISION X and VISION E studies, carrying on the ŠKODA design language, have built on the previously showcased VISION D, VISION C and VISION S concepts, forming the basis for the mass-produced ŠKODA RAPID, SUPERB and KODIAQ.

ŠKODA VISION D - 2011

This study marked a big step in the future of ŠKODA, providing a first sneak peek on the brand’s new design language. The ŠKODA VISION D took typical elements of ŠKODA design and moved them further to the future, adding sharp, clean lines along the way.

ŠKODA VISION C - 2014

ŠKODA VISION C is a five-door coupé with expressive styling and dynamic elegance. A unique combination of soft, light contours, concave and convex surfaces as well as sharp, precise lines. Expressive, dynamic, emotional and also environmentally friendly.

ŠKODA VISION S - 2016

ŠKODA’s VISION S features three rows of seats, offering a generous amount of room for six passengers. The exterior design of the ŠKODA VISION S reflects the brand’s emotional appeal: All the edges and lines are clear, precise and sharp; crystalline design elements accentuate the exterior. The interplay of light and shadow creates powerful effects on the strikingly chiselled surfaces.
