ŠKODA KODIAQ RS Served Up with a New Logo

The ŠKODA KODIAQ RS, the most powerful ŠKODA SUV, will be making its world première before long. In the meantime, it has given us a glimpse of its face in photos and revealed the new vRS logo.

The ŠKODA KODIAQ RS will be unveiled to the public in all its glory at the Paris Motor Show this October. It will be graced with the new vRS logo, which differs from the present one in that the green colour has been removed.

The logo’s new, red design, highlighting the KODIAQ RS’s dynamism, will also be used by other models from the RS family. The letter “v” denotes victory, while the red symbolises how sporty and virile the RS family is.

“RS”, which stands for “Rallye Sport” was first used on the ŠKODA 180 RS and 200 RS rally prototypes back in 1974. They formed the basis for ŠKODA’s 130 RS model, which became a rally legend after first seeing the light of day in 1975 and continues to grace veteran rallies with its presence to this day. In 2000, ŠKODA introduced its first mass-produced RS model – the OCTAVIA RS. Since then, “RS” has been used to denote extremely powerful ŠKODAs. The ŠKODA KODIAQ RS is the brand’s first SUV to join this select club. Its bonnet will conceal the most powerful diesel engine in ŠKODA’s history – the 2.0 BiTDI, delivering 176 kW, or 239 PS, and maximum torque of 500 Nm.

ŠKODA KODIAQ RS proved just what a sport high performer it is back in May, when – still camouflaged – it was driven by seasoned racer Sabine Schmitz around Nürburgring’s legendary Nordschleife (“North Loop”) in record time for a seven-seater SUV.
