RS Four Ways. Which One Will You Choose?

Škoda Auto has been using the Rally Sport designation for its production models for more than 25 years. It began with a fast Octavia and today covers the entire model range, spanning different sizes and various types of powertrains. Discover the full family of motorsport-inspired performance models.

4. 3. 2026 Lifestyle

The RS designation first appeared on the rear of Škoda vehicles in 1974 on the 180 RS and 200 RS prototypes. At that time, the Rally Sport abbreviation had a purely competition-based meaning. In 2000, however, with the introduction of the Octavia RS, it entered everyday road use and laid the foundations for a family of sport-oriented models designed for daily driving. But which one is the right choice for you?

Electric for the first time

The Škoda Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS have successfully transferred competition DNA into the world of electric mobility. An electric motor on each axle delivers a combined system output of 250 kW (340 hp) and all-wheel drive without the need for a physical connection between the axles. This solution enables immediate power delivery and virtually instant response. The power output is even higher than that of the professional rally competition car Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

The Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS are ideal partners for customers seeking a spacious and representative electric car. They will also appeal to technology and design enthusiasts. Excellent aerodynamics contribute to enhanced acoustic comfort on board and a longer driving range on a single charge. Even these dynamic variants therefore offer a driving range of more than 550 kilometres.

The Enyaq Coupé RS delivers an elegant silhouette without compromising rear-seat comfort, while the Enyaq RS counters with a 585-liter trunk. The interiors of both models focus on sustainability and the use of durable and practical materials. In true RS spirit, they also feature sports seats and distinctive decorative elements that create a dynamic atmosphere.

A stylish predator

The latest addition to the RS model family is the Škoda Elroq, which offers all of the above qualities in a more compact package. It therefore also delivers a system output of 250 kW (340 hp) and 4x4 drive. At first glance, it is a predator that has strikingly developed the Modern Solid design language. Its shapes stood out particularly in the limited edition featuring a matte body paint finish.

The Elroq RS offers perfectly balanced driving characteristics and the immediate responses typical of a sport-tuned electric drivetrain. It complements this with cutting-edge technologies, sustainability and everyday practicality. A driving range of 556 kilometres on a single charge is well above average, and thanks to charging power of up to 185 kW, the battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent in just 26 minutes.

The traditional choice

Let us return to where it all began. The RS designation first appeared on the tailgate of a Škoda production car more than a quarter of a century ago with the Octavia. In its sportier form, this family bestseller has long since become a legend and is now in peak condition in its fourth generation. The Octavia RS performs equally well in everyday use, on a Sunday drive along favourite roads. It even has something to say on the racing circuit.

The dynamic yet efficient 2.0 TSI engine delivers an output of 195 kW (265 hp). Combined with the fast seven-speed DSG transmission, a limited-slip differential and a sports suspension, it ensures an engaging driving experience. Customers can choose between the elegant liftback body style and the highly practical Combi estate, which offers a generous luggage compartment capacity of 640 litres. And after all, sporty estate cars are particularly appealing.

The explorer

If you want your RS to take you virtually anywhere, the largest member of the line-up is ready for the task. The Škoda Kodiaq RS adopts the powertrain from the Octavia RS and adds an advanced all-wheel-drive system with an electro-hydraulically controlled multi-plate inter-axle clutch, a raised and robust suspension setup, and responsive steering assistance tuning, which is a defining characteristic of all RS models

Surprisingly, the Kodiaq RS’s strongest asset is not outright speed, but the unlimited practicality that can be combined with it. This sporty SUV is capable of towing a braked trailer weighing up to 2.5 tonnes and is also available as a seven-seater.

All models in the RS family share a great deal in common. They combine sporty dynamics with comfort and everyday usability, are instantly recognisable on the road thanks to their distinctive design elements, and offer welcoming interiors with generous space, seats providing excellent body support and the latest technologies. All that remains is to choose the one that best suits your lifestyle.
