The ŠKODA KODIAQ LAURIN & KLEMENT is bathing in the attention during its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. This large SUV, the most luxurious version of the KODIAQ, offers the very highest standards of comfort to soothe and pamper you. Driving this car will be a real treat for car connoisseurs. Come and explore it in detail, and feast your eyes on its stylish look and upscale equipment.

The KODIAQ L&K’s individualistic exterior design and plethora of distinctive features are an arresting sight. The large SUV’s appearance is distinguished by LED headlights, 19” Sirius alloy wheels and a quite singular front bumper. The fascia is dominated by a distinctive chrome-plated grille, lending the car a touch of majesty.

At the back, your gaze is drawn to the crystalline-effect LED taillights. The chrome-plated trim in the rear bumper borders the exhaust pipes and the implied diffuser. The window trim is also chrome-plated, while the roof rails are matte silver. All of these fittings intensify the premium feel of this ŠKODA SUV.

The Laurin & Klement badge, sitting on the front wings like an artist’s signature on a fine painting, is tastefully complemented by the KODIAQ-embossed aluminium door sill scuff plates that entice you into the interior.

MORE COMFORTABLE THAN YOUR COUCH

the Color & Trim designer

Succumb and you’ll suddenly enter a completely different world – a realm of luxury, unique style and the finest materials. “The ŠKODA KODIAQ LAURIN & KLEMENT is available in two interior color schemes, black/black and black/beige, both of which are complemented by matching-color seats made of high quality leather,” says Kateřina Vránová, the Color & Trim designer, as she describes the differences in this top-of-the-range version. “Customers can also choose between leather seats and air-conditioned leather seats, where the leather is perforated. The decorative parts are high-gloss black – reminiscent of piano lacquer – and are complemented by graceful chrome-plated details.”

Note elegant touches such as the Laurin & Klement logo on the seat backrests, the front-passenger panel and the infotainment system home screen. “Inside, the KODIAQ LAURIN & KLEMENT introduces stitching into the dashboard and door armrests – an eye-catching and appreciated detail,” adds Vránová.

What really makes the range-topping KODIAQ stand out is the attention to detail. “When you purchase a LAURIN & KLEMENT, you’re buying into the best that ŠKODA has to offer. Naturally, this is bound up in a sense of exclusivity,” explains Vránová. “We have tried to balance the various elements and materials as much as possible so that the refined LAURIN & KLEMENT style comes to the fore. The way the details are precision-rendered is part and parcel of this. Note, for example, the interrupted perforation of the leather where the seat cushion and the backrest of the air-conditioned seats are stitched.”

INDUSTRY-LEADING TECHNOLOGY

This trim level offers such a wealth of standard equipment that you won’t be wanting for anything. You can enjoy ambient lighting, aluminium pedals and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function. Driving will be made easier by the progressive steering, Area View (a 360° camera system combining with front and rear parking sensors) and Blind Spot Detect. Your favourite tracks will be crystal clear with the 10-speaker 550 W Canton Sound System. What is more, passengers are spoilt for choice as this big SUV is available as a classic five-seat version or as a seven-seater.

The digital instrument panel offers a fresh perspective of all important driving data, and the infotainment will be a joy with its 9.2” touch screen. It goes without saying that full connectivity full connectivity is available via SmartLink+ and ŠKODA Connect, which not only keeps track of the latest traffic news, but also facilitates remote vehicle access and control. This allows you to pinpoint exactly where your car is parked, or set the air-conditioning remotely (all of these features are also available for KODIAQ’s younger brother, the KAROQ, which is the second member of the ŠKODA SUV family).

The ŠKODA KODIAQ L&K introduces a completely new petrol engine, the 1.5 TSI 110 kW (150 PS), and boosts the power of the 2.0 TSI to 140 kW (190 PS). The engine range also includes the popular turbodiesel 2.0 TDI 110 kW (150 PS) and 140 kW (190 PS). These engines can be combined with front- or all-wheel drive (the 4×4 version can even be fitted with DCC – a chassis with adaptive dampers) and a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox.

WHY LAURIN & KLEMENT?

Václav Laurin and Václav Klement were the founders of a brand bearing their names. Their business, set up in 1895, originally made bicycles. Before long, they had moved on to their first motorcycle, and in 1905 their first passenger car saw the light of day. In 1925, the Laurin & Klement carmaker merged with the ŠKODA engineering group and took its name. The LAURIN & KLEMENT brand has been preserved, however, to denote the most luxurious trim level for selected ŠKODA models (the L&K line-up includes the KODIAQ, SUPERB and OCTAVIA) and as a tribute to the company founders and their motto: “Only our best is good enough for our customers.”
