“Škoda Auto and the Czech Philharmonic both have rich histories dating back to the 1890s. We are honoured to support this internationally renowned icon of Czech culture and its commitment to quality, tradition and representing the Czech Republic at home and abroad. We are proud to have supported the orchestra for more than three decades and delighted that our partnership will continue in the years ahead.”
Holger Peters, interim CEO of Škoda Auto
“Long-term partnerships are particularly important in the cultural sector. We greatly value the support Škoda Auto has given us since 1993. It enables us to develop the Czech Philharmonic’s work over the long term and bring outstanding musical experiences to audiences at home and abroad.”
David Mareček, General Director of the Czech Philharmonic
The partnership reflects the close collaboration between Czech industry and culture. Alongside financial support, Škoda Auto also provides mobility for the Czech Philharmonic. Six cars on long-term loan support daily operations, complemented by additional cars for special events and transporting guests. In 2025, Škoda Auto and the Czech Philharmonic held a gala concert at Prague’s Rudolfinum to celebrate the carmaker’s 130th anniversary.
The Czech Philharmonic has entered its 131st season under Chief Conductor and Music Director Semyon Bychkov. The orchestra will welcome guest conductors Jakub Hrůša and Sir Simon Rattle, Artist-in-Residence Janine Jansen, and Composer-in-Residence Thomas Adès. The programme will mark the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death and feature a number of world and Czech premieres. The season comprises 72 concerts in the Czech Republic, 22 international performances, and more than 300 educational events.
Škoda Auto traces its roots to late 1895, while the Czech Philharmonic gave its first concert at Prague’s Rudolfinum on 4 January 1896, conducted by Antonín Dvořák. Today, the carmaker’s commitment to the country’s finest music is reflected in its partnerships with the Czech Philharmonic and the Smetana’s Litomyšl Festival, as well as in the Škoda brand’s sonic logo, inspired by Bedřich Smetana’s Vltava from the cycle Má vlast.
Supporting culture remains an integral part of Škoda Auto’s corporate social responsibility. In addition to the Czech Philharmonic, the company works with other leading cultural institutions and projects and supports regional cultural life through grant programmes.
