Rally champion and the unique Škoda Fabia Motorsport Edition

Upon opening the front doors, attention is immediately drawn to the motorsport-inspired door sill trim. Inside, several additional details reinforce the car’s collector touch, including the Škoda Motorsport 125 emblem on the three-spoke sports steering wheel and woven carpet inserts. The main feature, however, is the plaque on the dashboard bearing the serial number from the limited series of 125 units. 

“Since we’re celebrating motorsport, we want a proper powertrain, don´t we?” Mikkelsen remarks after taking his seat behind the wheel. Under the bonnet is a 1.5 TSI evo2 four-cylinder engine boosted to 130 kW, delivering its peak output between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm. This makes it the fastest production version of the Fabia ever built. The seven-speed DSG transmission has also been specially modified. 
 
The steering response has been fine tuned for a sportier driving experience, and enthusiastic drivers are in for a pleasant surprise: the option of deactivating the ASR traction control system or selecting ASR Sport mode, which allows later intervention from the ESC stability control system. “When you lift off the throttle, the car dives into the corner beautifully thanks to a slight oversteer characteristic, which is great fun. Anyone who enjoys driving will love this,” says Mikkelsen with a smile while enjoying a spirited drive on a closed circuit. “It’s simply addictive!” the rally driver adds before pulling the mechanical handbrake one final time. 

The Fabia Motorsport Edition will arrive with its customers in style. Included as standard is a gift package containing driving gloves, a car cover featuring the Škoda Motorsport 125 Years logo, a protective transport case, a certificate of authenticity and a section of the safety roll cage from a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 as a unique collector’s item.
