Škoda Auto has once again headed to the city of fashion for the prestigious Milan Design Week. In the courtyard of the Palazzo del Senato, the brand not only surprises with large-scale installations inspired by modelling clay, but also offers a space for discovery, relaxation and creativity. This playful concept was created in collaboration with Spanish designer Ricardo Orts of Ulises Studio.

“Milan Design Week is one of the most important moments in the international design calendar, and being here is truly a dream come true,” says Ricardo Orts. “For me personally, it represents an opportunity to transform my visual universe into a physical installation. As an architect and artist, this allows me to connect different dimensions of my work – conceptual thinking, spatial design and visual storytelling – in a real-world environment where people can directly interact with the piece.”

The entire installation is characterised by soft shapes and malleable surfaces. Curiosity is captured from the very entrance, where visitors are welcomed by camouflaged Epiq and its playful counterpart Epiq Sculpt, a three-dimensional interpretation made from hand-shaped material of the new affordable electric model Epiq, which will celebrate its world premiere in May this year. Visitors can also actively engage in creativity in a dedicated creative zone for both children and adults, featuring clay modelling. Younger visitors even have their own play area.

“Milan Design Week provides an ideal platform to present Škoda Auto beyond the automotive world, showcasing our brand’s design with a focus on creativity and innovation. Our exhibition brings the Modern Solid design language to life and engages new audiences. The Milan display also features the first public presentation of the still concealed Škoda Epiq, which will contribute to making electric mobility more accessible and appealing to new customer groups. The main inspiration for this creative concept was modelling clay, which we associate with bold colours, the joy of self-expression and the desire to explore and create something new,” says Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing.

Create your own bag, sample craft lemonades and traditional spa wafers, or have your own AI avatar generated in a digital dome. And that is not all. In the central section of the exhibition, visitors can take part in yoga sessions. Relaxed and refreshed, they can then absorb further insights during Epiq Talks, featuring presentations by representatives from Škoda Auto’s design department, Ulises Studio and other distinguished guests.

Head to Milan – it’s Epiq!

Milan Design Week is open to the public from 21 to 26 April. The Škoda Auto exhibition is located in the courtyard of the Baroque Palazzo del Senato at Via Senato 10, currently serving as the State Archive.
