Dear readers,
It was a busy summer at the Kvasiny plant. This year, we began the next phase of modernising our paint shop, which will meet the highest industry standards for quality, efficiency and environmental performance. A new chassis pre-assembly section on the ML1 assembly line will also enable us to integrate plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid (HEV) models into production.
We also had good reason for a small celebration to mark an important milestone: the one-millionth Škoda Karoq has rolled off the production line in Kvasiny.
We’ve been building this popular, practical SUV since its launch in 2017, and we’re delighted that it continues to win over new customers. We’re also producing more Kodiaqs in Kvasiny, and earlier this year we expanded Octavia production to include the Combi estate version.
The flexibility of our production lines is once again proving its worth, with Kvasiny ranking among the Volkswagen Group’s best operations for quality and efficiency. There is still plenty to do before the end of the year, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our employees for their hard work and dedication, and the KOVO Trade Union for its cooperative approach.
Our success goes hand in hand with the development of the region. I see particular value in the memorandum signed with representatives of neighbouring municipalities and regions to further improve quality of life in this beautiful part of the country. You can read more about these and other developments in the following pages.

One million Karoqs from Kvasiny
Škoda Auto has reached a major production milestone
Launched in 2017 and now sold in around 60 markets, the compact SUV remains a key model in Škoda’s SUV line-up.
The one-millionth car was a Graphite Grey Karoq 1.5 TSI with an output of 110 kW. Since its debut in 2017, the Karoq has become Škoda’s third most popular SUV. It has also won recognition from industry experts, including a Red Dot Award in the Product Design category. It is currently sold in around 60 markets worldwide, with the strongest demand in Germany, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.
The Karoq has been built in Kvasiny from the outset and accounts for a significant share of the plant’s output. In 2025, the plant set a new production record of 301,500 Škoda vehicles after Kodiaq production was extended to both assembly lines and the Octavia was added to the production programme. The Octavia Combi has also been built here since May 2026. Preparations for the next generation of the Karoq are continuing, with its unveiling planned for late 2027 or early 2028.
Škoda Auto Endowment Fund to continue supporting
Solnice, Kvasiny and the Bělá microregion
Representatives of the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund (NFŠA), the town of Solnice, the municipality of Kvasiny and the Voluntary Association of Municipalities of the Bělá Microregion have signed a memorandum of cooperation for 2026–2028.
Building on projects from previous years, the partnership will focus on improving public spaces, education and community life, and giving residents a greater role in the region’s development. Planned projects include the U Mohyly forest park on the border between Solnice and Kvasiny, a natural playground and a new meeting place for residents of both communities.
The memorandum also provides for support to revitalise Solnice town square and the centre of Kvasiny, develop plans for a multipurpose building with social service facilities and housing for older people, and improve nursery, primary and lower secondary education. The involvement of the Bělá microregion will also bring support for cultural events and activities run by local associations. A participatory budget is also being considered, allowing residents to propose projects for the NFŠA to support.

„Our success goes hand in hand with the development of the region.“

Maják festival comes to the Rychnov region
The touring Maják family festival of light comes to Rychnov nad Kněžnou on 30 and 31 October 2026, with events at the château, in its park and at the Church of the Holy Trinity.
The NFŠA festival offers a fresh perspective on familiar historic sites through light installations, projection mapping and interactive art. This year’s space-themed programme includes giant models of the Earth and Moon, light and music installations, projection mapping on the bell tower and the audiovisual projection Horizont nekonečna (Horizon of Infinity) in the Church of the Holy Trinity.
NFŠA scholarships for study abroad
The Škoda Auto Endowment Fund (NFŠA) is offering secondary school students from the Rychnov region the opportunity to study abroad in 2027 through its scholarship programme.
The Škoda Auto Endowment Fund is working with educational organisation AFS on another round of scholarships for study abroad. This year, the programme has a new format and is aimed at young people who want to learn, experience life in a new environment and develop as individuals. Academic results are only part of the picture: applicants’ outlook, potential and willingness to share what they have learnt on returning home also matter. After returning home, scholarship recipients can take part in alumni activities and other initiatives in the region. More information: www.nfsa.cz/cs/ziskejte-podporu/grantove-vyzvy.
IN BRIEF
Epiq and Peaq roadshow
The regular roadshow brought the new Epiq and Peaq models to the Kvasiny plant from 9 to 11 September. Employees had the chance to see Škoda’s new all-electric models up close: the entry-level crossover SUV built in Spain and the flagship SUV from Mladá Boleslav, with seating for up to seven.

Superbs for the winners
Nine Škoda Auto employees each won a Superb 1.5 mHEV outright as a top prize in the ZEBRA idea management programme’s prize draw. More than 2,000 improvement proposals were entered into this year’s draw. These solutions generated benefits worth CZK 329 million in 2025.
Employee perspective: Dominika Králová – Internal Communications, Editor-in-Chief of Škoda Mobil
Almost everyone at Škoda Auto knows Škoda Mobil, the long-established employee newspaper published free of charge each month in print and online. What they may not know is that Dominika from Internal Communications is responsible for its content.
How long have you worked at Škoda Auto, and what roles have you held?
I first joined Škoda Auto in 2016 as a student intern in Procurement. That was when I began to discover just how much there is to the company. I’ve worked in Internal Communications since 2017. A few years later, I had the chance to take over as editor-in-chief. It was a dream come true because I remember Škoda Mobil from my childhood.
What drew you to communications?
Curiosity. I was happy in Procurement at the time, with a great team and manager, but I wanted to keep developing. Communications and public relations really appealed to me, and I wanted to work in the field. So I decided to give it a go, applied for a role in Internal Communications, and it worked out! Now I get to do what I enjoy.
What does your current role involve?
I’m now in my fourth year overseeing the production and content of Škoda Mobil, our employee newspaper and one of our main internal communications channels. We aim to give readers interesting content and a full picture of what’s happening both inside and outside the company. In recent years, we’ve put more emphasis on involving employees in the newspaper. We want them to see their experiences reflected in its pages and to contribute content and story ideas of their own. As editor-in-chief, I oversee the whole process, from the initial story idea to the final printed issue and the online edition at skodamobil.cz.
What are the editorial meetings like, and how many people are involved in producing Škoda Mobil?
We meet three times a month. Our main editorial meeting typically brings together up to 20 people, including representatives from across the company. We work through the plan for each issue, topic by topic. The core editorial team has five members, while the wider production team totals 16, covering graphic design, pre-press, proofreading, printing and distribution.
Škoda Mobil has long been one of the company’s most popular internal communications channels. How difficult is it to find enough stories for each monthly issue?
It can be challenging at times. We gather ideas from across the company and create our own original content alongside news about the business and its products. Popular features include photo reports from events, interviews, articles about employees and competitions open to every reader. We’re always working to improve the way we produce the newspaper and its content, and to cover topics that will stay relevant over time.
What do you enjoy most about your job, and what are the biggest challenges?
The variety and the pace. Putting each issue together can be hectic. You never know when approvals might take longer than expected or a story might have to wait until a later issue. The newspaper brings me into contact with people from every part of the company, which I really enjoy. Having such a clear view of what’s happening across Škoda Auto is a bonus, but the job also carries a great deal of responsibility.
