The first sketches of the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV have given us a glimpse of what to expect, especially the ŠKODA’s first electric SUV coupé’s elegant lines. Meet its historic predecessors.

You’ve already had the chance to see the upcoming ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV in its unusual camouflage, and you could catch a glimpse of its silhouette in the first video about the new car. Now the first sketches are here, giving a taste of the sleek new model’s overall looks.

The sketches clearly show that the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV is a close relative of the existing ENYAQ iV: the dynamic front, with its rugged bonnet and narrow but distinctive headlights, matches the existing version of the electric SUV.

The main differences come from the body’s B-pillar towards the rear. It is here that the roof of the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV begins to slope gently, giving the car the shape of a four-door coupé. The elegantly sloping roofline then transitions smoothly into the boot lid, which is topped by a distinctive spoiler. Needless to say, the rear is characterised by the ŠKODA lettering and again by the lights with their narrow lines and typical C-shaped light signature.

A ŠKODA coupé

The electric ENYAQ COUPÉ iV, with its SUV/coupé lines, follows in the footsteps of a number of legendary coupés from ŠKODA’s history and thus ranks alongside some respected icons of design.

ŠKODA POPULAR MONTE CARLO

Elegant body shapes are in ŠKODA’s DNA. The 1935 POPULAR MONTE CARLO is not only one of the most beautiful cars in the Czech brand’s history, but it’s also one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

ŠKODA 1000 MBX

Rare and prized specimens include the ŠKODA 1000 MBX from 1966, a coupé derived from the legendary 1000 MB. The body without a central pillar is still unique in the Czech carmaker’s production history.

ŠKODA 110 R

The famous ŠKODA 110 R cannot be absent from the list of legendary ŠKODA coupés. Produced between 1970 and 1980, it gave birth to the sporting legends 200 RS and 130 RS, among others. So it’s no surprise that you’ll also see it featured in the video for the world premiere of the ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV.

ŠKODA RAPID

The 110 R was followed by the ŠKODA GARDE in 1981 and the now legendary ŠKODA RAPID in 1984. The rear-engined, straight-edged coupé was the dream car of several generations of Czech drivers and remained the last production ŠKODA coupé for a long time.

ŠKODA TUDOR

Even though fans of the brand had to wait a while for another proper coupé, the Czech carmaker surprised them from time to time with amazing concept cars. In 2002, for example, car enthusiasts were captivated by the ŠKODA TUDOR study, which was based on the then first-generation SUPERB.

ŠKODA KODIAQ GT

The ŠKODA KODIAQ GT brought the company’s coupé tradition back into mass production after many years’ absence. Designed exclusively for the Chinese market, the car was launched in 2018. The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV will now carry on the tradition in the demanding European market.
