The new Škoda Slavia features a refreshed look and an exclusive colour

Škoda Auto has unveiled the updated Slavia sedan in India. The design changes give the car a fresher, more dynamic look. A special feature will be a new, exclusive colour for a limited edition of 500 vehicles.

Indian customers expect the changes to be noticeable at first glance. That’s why the new Škoda Slavia has a significantly redesigned front end compared to the current model. In some details and design principles, it was inspired by the recent redesign of the popular Kushaq SUV.

Thanks to its new lines, the new Slavia has a sportier look. “Although people don’t drive fast in India, the sporty design is gaining popularity among customers,” says designer Caroline Liehr. According to her fellow designer, Gaurav Bhatia, the new Slavia is the perfect alternative to mainstream SUVs, offering sophisticated drivers a blend of sporty styling and refined sedan comfort.

More modern and visually wider

Customers can enjoy the new model in several ways. "This car is perfectly suited for owners seeking versatility; it allows them to unwind in the back seat with a chauffeur during the work week and enjoy driving with their families on weekend getaways." explains Bhatia. This highlights the diverse tastes of Indian customers, who enjoy being driven around but, when they drive themselves, appreciate a sportier driving experience.

That is one reason why the new Slavia model lineup includes the Monte Carlo version from the start, which emphasizes the car’s sportier character. In addition, the car will be available in three other trim levels: Classic, Signature, and Prestige.

A common feature of all of them is the new front end and revised rear end. In both cases, the designers chose lines and details that make the car appear wider and bring it visually closer to the “Modern Solid” philosophy that Škoda Auto now upholds in its models. “We redesigned the bumper, parts of the front and rear light units, the radiator grille and the lower bumper grille,” says exterior designer Karel Linhart, listing the changes.

The rear lights now more closely resemble the letter “T,” a design characteristic of current Škoda models. The rear lights are joined by a dark strip carrying Škoda lettering. At the front, the headlights are divided into segments, and this division visually extends across the grille.

Technical improvements

In addition to a more modern and dynamic design, the new Slavia also features a number of technical improvements and new equipment features. Many of these are making their debut in this segment of the Indian market. The improvements include:

● a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter for the 1.0 TSI engine
● a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG transmission for the 1.5 TSI engine
● rear disc brakes for the 1.5 TSI
● rear seats with a massage function
● 10.25-inch digital cockpit
● 10.1-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and the AI Companion feature
● Area View 360° camera

The grille draws inspiration from the Kushaq model, and its colour and design vary depending on the trim level. Chrome accents increase gradually with higher trim levels; the Monte Carlo trim features a traditional (mostly glossy) black grille and other black details. The grille and rear strip contain a pattern that follows the pattern inside the lights.

Revised colour palette

The Monte Carlo version also differs in the colour treatment of the bumper. The lower part has been fitted with a new black trim piece that extends all the way to the wheels and replaces the original side spoilers. “An interesting detail of the front bumper is the elegantly concealed parking sensors,” Linhart points out. This feature is included on all new versions of the model.

The Slavia also gets an updated colour palette, which is again based on the Kushaq’s offerings, but there are also specific shades unique to this model. One new shade, for example, is Steel Gray; the Slavia also adopts the new Cherry Red shade from the Kushaq, which replaces the previous Tornado Red. White, blue, and other shades will also be available.

A standout feature, however, is the exclusive “Arctic Silver” paint finish, which Škoda will offer only in a limited edition of 500 vehicles. The Slavia also gets two new wheel designs, one of which is reserved exclusively for the Monte Carlo version.

A more elegant and sportier interior

The interior has also been adapted to match the Slavia’s more dynamic character. A more pronounced horizontal line running through the air vents visually widens the space, and the designers have fine-tuned the colour combinations and materials.

The Monte Carlo trim now emphasizes elegance with black and darker tones overall. Instead of bold red, a darker burgundy shade provides contrast—for example, on the dashboard or in the seat stitching. “For this shade, we drew inspiration from the Indian wine-growing region of Nashik,” says Caroline Liehr. Carbon-look details on the seats further enhance the sporty atmosphere.

Other trim levels feature, for example, a lighter beige colour giving the interior a premium and elegant appearance. In this configuration, the Slavia can also be equipped with ventilated seats.
