Safety and assistance systems: comprehensive, predictive,
and reassuring driver support

As part of the Travel Package, the Epiq can be equipped with the latest version of Travel Assist 3.0, the most advanced driver assistance system currently available in Škoda vehicles. In addition to Adaptive Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Emergency Assist, Travel Assist 3.0 can use online swarm data to adapt the vehicle’s speed to the average speed of other vehicles travelling on the same stretch of road, selecting a lower speed where traffic typically moves more slowly, even if the applicable speed limit is higher. It can also use online data about temporary traffic signs to anticipate changes in speed limits, allowing the vehicle to reduce its speed in advance, make greater use of recuperation, and reach the applicable speed by the time it passes the temporary traffic sign. The latest generation can respond to traffic lights and can bring the vehicle to a standstill when required.

The Epiq’s standard suite of assistance systems includes Front Assist, Side Assist, including Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning, Lane Assist, Predictive Speed Limiter, Intelligent Speed Assist, and the upgraded Driver Alert system with driver monitoring. The system monitors the driver for signs of fatigue by tracking eye movements using an interior camera integrated into the rear-view mirror. The Epiq is also equipped with seven airbags, including a centre airbag, as standard. Traffic Sign Recognition Online combines data from the front camera with continuously updated online information from vehicles that have previously travelled along the same stretch of road.
