Holger Peters appointed new Board Member for Finance and IT

› Holger Peters, currently Supervisory Board Chairman of Europcar Mobility Group and Chief Representative of Volkswagen Bank, will be a member of the Management Board responsible for Škoda Auto’s Finance and IT area from 1 June 2023
› Predecessor Christian Schenk will be taking on new responsibilities within the Volkswagen Group

Mladá Boleslav, 20 April 2023 – Holger Peters, currently Supervisory Board Chairman of Europcar Mobility Group and Chief Representative of Volkswagen Bank, will be appointed as the new Board Member for Finance and IT effective as of 1 June 2023. He succeeds Christian Schenk, who has been a member of the Management Board since 1 October 2021. Schenk will be taking on new responsibilities within the Volkswagen Group.

Holger Peters started his career in the Volkswagen Group at Porsche AG in 1996. Before that, he had graduated in European Business Administration in Berlin and Cambridge (UK). Peters was employed by the Porsche Group for over 26 years. After holding several positions in Germany and abroad, most recently as Head of Controlling at Porsche AG, he transferred to Porsche Financial Services in 2017, where he was appointed Group CEO and Spokesperson to the Board of Management. In early 2022, he was made Head of the Europcar Transformation Office at Volkswagen AG, where he managed the acquisition of the Europcar Mobility Group for the Volkswagen Group in collaboration with two investors, Attestor and Pon Holdings. In his most recent position, Peters was Chief Representative of Volkswagen Bank GmbH in Braunschweig and Supervisory Board Chairman of Europcar Mobility Group in Paris. Peters will be continuing as the Supervisory Board Chairman alongside his new role.

Christian Schenk started his career at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg in 1999 after graduating in Economics from the University of Göttingen. He held senior positions, including in Group Auditing for Europcar International in France and as Head of Central Finance for the Group importer VW Group UK in Milton Keynes. Schenk then took on leadership roles at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand in Wolfsburg in the Profit and Financing (2009-2012) and Overall Financial Planning (2012-2016) departments. From 2016 to 2019, he was responsible for Controlling at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand. In October 2019, he was appointed Board Member for Finance at MAN SE and Board Member for Finance, IT and Legal at MAN Truck & Bus SE. In October 2021, Schenk was appointed to Škoda Auto’s Board of Management responsible for Finance and IT. In the future, he will be assuming new responsibilities within the Volkswagen Group.
