Peaq Inside a DesignBlok

Škoda Auto is once again taking part in DesignBlok, the prestigious international festival of design and fashion in Prague. This year, the brand is presenting the new Epiq and Peaq models. Here is what visitors can look forward to.

The main venue of this year’s edition of the festival is the Trade Fair Palace, home to the National Gallery Prague. Škoda’s presence is evident even before visitors enter the building. Alongside two Epiq vehicles, there is also a playful design installation by Spanish architect and artist Ricardo Orts, founder of Studio Ulises, which visually references the “Oooh, that’s Epiq” campaign.

“Inside the Trade Fair Palace, visitors will discover the immersive “Peaq Inside” installation, which allows them to experience the new model through the eyes of its creators,” says Martin Pavlík, who is responsible for the creative concept and overall presentation of the brand’s participation in the design festival. Visitors first approach a large structure made of dark panels featuring cutouts in the shape of the caron diacritical mark above the letter “Š”. Through these openings, they can glimpse illuminated design sketches.

Inside the box, which visitors can enter, the Peaq model is on display, celebrating its Czech exhibition debut. The installation makes sophisticated use of lighting, gradually revealing the car’s distinctive curves and design features – fittingly, light is the central theme of this year’s festival. A particularly inventive detail referencing the modern art gallery setting is the car’s official exhibition label, featuring a “curator’s note”, a list of materials used and the car’s dimensions. An accompanying QR code directs visitors to the model’s product page.

“Design is much more than just appearance. It makes technology intuitive and useful. At Škoda, great design begins with understanding our customers’ everyday needs. That is what connects our vehicles with the creativity and atmosphere here at DesignBlok,” said Holger Peters, currently acting as Chairman of the Board of Management of Škoda Auto, at the opening of the exhibition.

Škoda Auto is also offering an attractive programme at Prague Exhibition Grounds, the festival’s second main venue. In front of the Industrial Palace, the company has created the open interactive “Born to Explore” zone, aimed at families with children. Young visitors can develop their imagination through creative activities or enjoy physical challenges, such as a climbing wall.
