30 years of ŠKODA AUTO as part of the Volkswagen Group: A European economic success story

On 28 March 1991, the Czech Minister of Industry, Jan Vrba, and the Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group, Carl H. Hahn, signed the contract establishing a joint venture for the production of ŠKODA cars. The contracting parties were the government of the Czech Republic and the Volkswagen Group.
