Kvasiny, 24 November 2020 – These two videos take you behind the scenes of ŠKODA AUTO’s production processes in Kvasiny. At this state-of-the-art site, cars – including the KODIAQ, KAROQ and SUPERB model ranges as well as the SUPERB iV plug-in hybrid – are manufactured around the clock, six days a week. One of the videos demonstrates the manufacturing process in dynamic time-lapse photography, while the second clip provides interesting background information using real-time footage.

The two videos take viewers on a tour of the ŠKODA AUTO factory in Kvasiny. The first stop is the body shop, where up to 1,500 bodies are assembled every day. The better part of the welding work is carried out by a total of 893 robots. Following a visit to the ultra-modern paint shop, the videos show the assembly lines on which more than 50 vehicles are built per hour. This means that per day, the ŠKODA AUTO Kvasiny plant produces around 1,200 units of the ŠKODA KODIAQ and KAROQ SUVs as well as the ŠKODA SUPERB and SUPERB iV plug-in hybrid.

ŠKODA is constantly automating production and continuously implementing new Industry 4.0 technologies at this state-of-the-art site. Since September 2019, the Czech car manufacturer has, for example, been implementing ‘dProduction’ at Kvasiny. This system supports the workforce in carrying out manufacturing steps correctly, notifies them of changes to the production process and serves as proof of quality control. In November 2019, ŠKODA AUTO’s dProduction project won the Automotive Lean Production award for the best smart digital application.
