Soon, the Peaq will lead the peloton at the Tour de France. It offers seating for up to seven occupants, all-wheel drive capability, and a solid foundation for outdoor weekend adventures. All of these strengths were already on display during its world premiere.

A total of nine Peaq vehicles were presented to guests. At the summit of Mont Salève, overlooking the stunning panorama of Lake Geneva, visitors were able to explore rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, five-seat and seven-seat configurations, a special Tour de France Director’s car, a vehicle showcasing the capabilities of the Sonos audio system, and a Peaq equipped with outdoor and camping accessories.

“We configured the vehicles for the world premiere to represent the broad range of trims and specifications available for the Peaq,” explains Petr Kavrentzis, who was responsible for preparing the vehicles for the global unveiling. “Some of the cars were also equipped with original accessories, such as Clubber alloy wheels,” he adds.

The approximately 300 journalists and content creators attending the premiere, who were photographing and filming the Peaq for their audiences, made full use of the opportunity. Many tested the space offered by the third-row seats, discussed audio technologies with experts on the Sonos audio system and took a closer look at both the 935-litre luggage compartment and the front storage compartment (frunk).

Particular attention was naturally attracted by the red Director’s car prepared for the Tour de France. This was not only because the unveiling took place close to roads which the famous bicycle race regularly passes.

The red Peaq also drew the interest of Chris Froome, four-time winner of the legendary event and now Škoda’s International Cycling Ambassador. Froome admitted that he is looking forward to this year’s Tour partly because he will be able to experience it from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle. “As a cyclist, you experience ten different kinds of pain. Now I can enjoy the Tour in a different way,” he said.He would not mind taking the wheel himself, either. “I would love to drive the Peaq on one of the Tour de France stages. That would be fantastic,” Chris Froome revealed.

Another vehicle that attracted considerable interest was the Peaq prepared for overnight stays away from home. In the great outdoors, it can provide not only accommodation thanks to a spacious mattress, but also the possibility to charge electronic devices.
