Škoda Peaq unveiled. The flagship boasts a number of firsts

Škoda Auto has officially unveiled its new top-of-the-line model, the Peaq. In addition to practicality and comfort, this electric SUV offers seating for up to seven occupants, all-wheel drive, and a driving range of over 600 km on a single charge. It also introduces a number of never-before-seen features. Let’s take a closer look at them.

The Škoda Peaq is the electric alternative to the large Kodiaq SUV. It likewise offers seating for up to seven passengers, but thanks to an even longer wheelbase and overall body length, it provides even more interior space. Moreover, several of the solutions and equipment features make their debut in a Škoda model.

“We have given it everything we promised, and more besides. It is therefore my great honour and pleasure to introduce the all-new Peaq – our largest electric vehicle and Škoda’s new flagship,” said Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer during the car’s unveiling.

Like a living room on wheels

Following the Epiq, the Peaq is the second Škoda model developed entirely according to the Modern Solid design language from the very beginning. This philosophy is also fully reflected in the interior. For some time now, Škoda has focused on making occupants feel truly at home inside its cars, and the Peaq takes this approach to perfection.

With a wheelbase of 2,965 mm and an overall length of 4,874 mm, the Peaq offers exceptional spaciousness. Even passengers in the third row enjoy outstanding comfort, while an impressive 299 litres of luggage capacity remain available behind them. In the five-seat configuration, the Peaq accommodates up to 935 litres of luggage. In addition, it features a 37-litre front luggage compartment (frunk), while interior storage compartments provide a further 33 litres of space for smaller items.

Tall passengers will also feel comfortable in every seating position. The seats have been generously designed, while carefully selected materials help create a welcoming atmosphere on board. All seat upholstery options available at launch are vegan, with leather upholstery to join the range at a later date. The airy interior is flooded with light thanks to the largest panoramic roof ever offered in a Škoda vehicle. Covering an area of 2.1 m², it incorporates Dynamic Shade Control technology, allowing occupants to adjust the level of tinting and light transmission.

An entirely new Relax Package is available as an option, transforming the vehicle into a true lounge on wheels. It includes AGR-certified seats with a massage function, ergonomic leg rests, a premium Sound by Sonos audio system and a dedicated wellbeing application designed to create an even more relaxing atmosphere.

Ambient lighting is fitted as standard across the range. The audio system, developed in cooperation with acoustic specialists from Sonos, consists of 16 speakers, a dedicated A2B amplifier and a dual subwoofer with an 18-litre enclosure for genuinely deep bass reproduction. Total system output reaches 755 W. During development, attention was paid even to details such as the metal speaker grilles in the doors, which were specifically designed to support optimal sound distribution throughout the interior.

The Škoda Peaq also features a portrait-oriented 13.6-inch infotainment display based on the Android platform. This enables access to an even wider range of third-party applications. The system introduces a new intuitive user interface, while retaining physical controls for climate settings and ventilation, hazard warning lights, door locking functions and media volume.

Peaq firsts

The Škoda Peaq introduces a number of features and solutions never before seen in the brand’s model range. These include:
● flush door handles
● panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control
● relax Package
● top Area View 360° parking assistant
● audio system developed in cooperation with Sonos
● new-generation, even more efficient heat pump
● wireless phone charging with magnetic alignment
● windscreen wipers with integrated washer nozzles
● 91 kWh battery

Confident and functional

While the Peaq’s interior is designed to provide an atmosphere of uninterrupted comfort and relaxation, its exterior exudes confidence. At the same time, every detail serves a specific purpose.
“Minimalism is the lead principle – every shape has meaning, every line has purpose. Everything serves a single goal: to offer our customers the very best,” says Škoda Auto Head of Design Oliver Stefani, regarding the car’s appearance.

The clean surfaces of the Modern Solid design language contribute significantly to the vehicle’s excellent aerodynamic performance, which Škoda’s designers and engineers have refined to an exceptional level. As a result, the Peaq becomes the first Škoda model to feature flush door handles, which automatically extend when the car is unlocked. They can also be operated manually and incorporate a feature that allows for easy door opening in icy conditions.

The 19- to 21-inch wheels are equipped with specially designed aerodynamic covers that reduce turbulence. Air is channelled towards them by a newly developed Air Curtain system, whose ducts are positioned closer to the centre of the front bumper, near the Tech-Deck Face grille characteristic of Škoda’s electric models. Together with the new T-shaped headlamps and the glossy black strip connecting the lower sections of the lights, it creates a distinctive new visual signature at the front of the vehicle. A similar motif is repeated at the rear, where the LED tail lamps also adopt a T-shaped design.

Peaq in superlatives

● largest and most spacious SUV in the Škoda range (4,874 mm)
● longest wheelbase (2,965 mm)
● largest luggage compartment (935 litres)
● most advanced driver assistance system (Travel Assist 3.0)
● largest infotainment screen (13.6 inches)
● largest panoramic roof (2.1 m²)
● largest battery capacity (91 kWh)

The minimalist appearance and sophisticated aerodynamics are further enhanced by large, uninterrupted surfaces broken up by only a minimal number of elements. The exterior mirrors have also been optimised by Škoda’s designers and engineers to minimise unwanted noise and turbulence around them.

At the front, active cooling shutters concealed behind the distinctive bumper regulate airflow to the cooling system and help reduce aerodynamic drag. At the rear, the vehicle features a diffuser and, above all, a carefully engineered spoiler that follows the gently sloping roofline. The result of all these aerodynamic measures is a drag coefficient of less than 0.25.

Powerful performer with impressive range

The refined aerodynamics also contribute to the electric SUV’s excellent driving range. Customers will be able to choose between two battery sizes and three powertrain variants. The Peaq 60 features the smaller battery pack with a capacity of 63 kWh (59 kWh net), providing a driving range of up to 440 kilometres on a single charge. Charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes just 27 minutes. The model is powered by a 150-kW electric motor driving the rear axle, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 160 km/h.

The more powerful Peaq 90 and Peaq 90x versions utilise a 91-kWh battery pack (86 kWh usable), the largest battery ever fitted to a Škoda vehicle. In the Peaq 90, the rear wheels are driven by a 210-kW electric motor, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of up to 180 km/h. The Peaq 90x offers the same maximum speed while adding a second electric motor on the front axle. Combined system output reaches 220 kW, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent capacity in 28 minutes.

Sportline with a black roof

From launch, the Škoda Peaq will also be available in Sportline trim. This version is characterised by gloss black exterior details and black model badging. Customers may also opt for a black-painted roof. Standard Sportline equipment includes Top LED Matrix headlamps, an illuminated Light Band and the exclusive black Sportline Lounge interior featuring sports seats with integrated headrests and a three-spoke steering wheel. The Sportline specification can be combined with all available powertrain options.

The Peaq 90x delivers a driving range of up to 605 kilometres, while the Peaq 90 exceeds 630 kilometres. Contributing to this is the new heat pump, which provides highly efficient interior heating. The vehicle’s battery can also supply electricity to external devices, as the Peaq supports V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality as well as V2H (vehicle-to-home) and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) standards. A Moon Power wallbox is required to utilise these functions.

As a powerful large SUV, the Peaq can also be equipped with an optional tow hitch. Rear-wheel-drive versions can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1.8 tonnes, while all-wheel-drive variants increase this figure up to 2 tonnes. The maximum permissible weight for an unbraked trailer is 750 kilograms.

Drivers can make use of what´s known as “one-pedal driving mode”, activated by selecting B mode on the drive mode selector. In this setting, the vehicle is capable of coming to a complete stop using regenerative braking alone, without the need to apply the brake pedal.

On the road, occupants can rely on a wide range of highly advanced assistance systems. The highlight is the optional Travel Assist 3.0 package for assisted driving, which is capable of recognising traffic-light signals. Another noteworthy feature is the optional Top Area View 360° parking assistant, providing the driver with a detailed overview of the car’s surroundings.
Every Peaq is equipped with ten airbags as standard, along with advanced safety and driver-assistance systems including Front Assist, Crossroad Assist, Turn Assist, Lane Assist and Side Assist - which includes Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning—as well as Predictive Cruise Control.
