Škoda EV Lounge: A Family United by Electric Cars

Škoda EV Lounge is a community of Škoda electric car drivers. For many of its members, it has already become something of a family, while for everyone it provides a space to share experiences, practical tips and stories from their travels. Take a look at one of their get-togethers.

20. 10. 2026 Škoda World

The official Škoda EV Lounge community for electric car owners is managed by an in-house team at the Mladá Boleslav-based brand. This makes it not only a welcoming environment where nobody needs to be afraid to ask for advice, but also a safe space where car owners can provide feedback. The community administrators then pass this feedback on to the car manufacturer. It is therefore one of the closest connections that customers can establish with the brand.

Škoda also rewards members for their activity in the community. It selects ambassadors from among the most active members and occasionally invites them to feature events. Regular members can also receive similar rewards, for example by winning competitions.

Škoda EV Lounge

Škoda founded the Škoda EV Lounge community on Facebook in September 2023. To join the group, applicants must provide the VIN of their electric car, which they are required to enter when submitting their membership request. Active community members may be given the opportunity to attend gatherings known as EV Lounge Meet Ups. More recently, Škoda also gave them the chance to try out the new Epiq and Peaq models as part of a dynamic presentation. Alongside journalists, community members were therefore among the first to experience the new models from behind the wheel.

"Our aim was to create a friendly community focused on sharing experiences with our electric cars. We have succeeded, and in fact much more than we expected. The group has literally become a family, a place where new friendships are formed. And these friendships are not only limited to the virtual world, something that our events also help to promote," says Barbora Menčíková, who was there at the very creation of Škoda EV Lounge.

According to her, what makes the platform unique is that it gives members access to the knowledge and expertise of the car manufacturer's specialists. If none of the active group members can answer a particular question, the community administrators seek an answer directly from the relevant teams at Škoda Auto.

"Our face-to-face meetings take these opportunities to share experiences and needs even further," says Menčíková, adding that experts and members of the company's management team also attend the gatherings. "Customers really appreciate this. It is important to them to know that they have their voices heard and that Škoda is interested in talking to them," Menčíková adds.

"For us, this kind of closeness to customers is very enlightening. They are not anonymous people, but real individuals with real stories, with whom we can talk very openly," says her colleague Nataša Obermann, adding: "It is an opportunity for us to get to know our customers, learn something from them and, for example, hear their opinions on some of our new developments."

The Best Driving Experience

This was also made possible at the third Škoda EV Lounge Meet Up, which brought around 35 Škoda electric car owners from ten European countries to Hradec Králové and its surrounding area on the first weekend of October. The participants were a combination of group ambassadors and competition winners. Many of them drove their own cars to the event.

During the morning programme at the polygon in Hradec Králové, participants had the opportunity to try out the entire Škoda electric car range. With the Epiq, Elroq and Enyaq, they could practise an extreme evasive manoeuvre similar to the moose test or take part in skid-control training on a slippery surface. The flagship Peaq model was available on the oval track. Understandably, the participants were grinning from ear to ear, and when the time allocated for the activity came to an end, very few were keen to get out of the cars. "I could do this all day!", "That was my best driving experience ever!", and "Let me have another go!" were among the most common reactions.

Workshops and Relaxing Activities

However, the gathering offered much more than the opportunity to test the cars at the driving centre. The opening presentation on the vehicle's driver assistance systems and their development through software upgrades was particularly useful for community members. This was not a usual presentation: participants had access to the experts who work on fine-tuning and developing the assistance systems and could discuss their specific comments, suggestions and ideas with them. Experts in charging and wallboxes were also on hand at the event.

Škoda Hybrid Lounge

The car manufacturer has also established a similar community for Škoda hybrid car owners, alongside the one intended for electric car owners. It was launched in spring 2026. Once again, the key to joining is the VIN of a Škoda hybrid vehicle, regardless of its degree of hybridisation. Owners of mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid models can join the community, and owners of the new Škoda full-hybrid models will also be able to join in the near future.

Škoda also used the gathering to conduct small-scale surveys in several areas. "As a matter of course, community members have access to beta versions of our applications. We also use our face-to-face meetings to ask for their opinions on certain features and vehicle functions that are still in development," says Nataša Obermann. One of the fun elements of the gathering was the journey to the accommodation, which participants completed in teams using a blank map. Along the way, they also completed entertaining tasks and took photographs for a commemorative album. The day concluded with a friendly get-together around a fire, where everyone enjoyed roasting traditional Czech špekáčky sausages.

Škoda EV Lounge is therefore much more than just a Facebook page. It is a platform that provides Škoda electric car owners with useful information. It is a place where they can find answers to their questions, which are often very tricky indeed. Above all, it is a space where customers and the car manufacturer can maintain a very close relationship, often in the real world as well.

Feedback from EV Lounge Meet Up participants:

Jakub Dobeš, Czech Republic

Car: Elroq Sportline
Model year: 2025
Current mileage (approx.): 56,000 km

The owner of a company specialising in smart home and energy management solutions bought his Elroq primarily because of the expected fuel savings. "We calculated that, given our annual mileage, we would save around CZK 100,000  on fuel each year, and that adds up to a substantial amount of money over the planned period of car ownership," he says. In everyday use, the electric car has convinced him of its other advantages as well, and Jakub is now planning to purchase a second car. The Peaq is a strong candidate.

What do you like about your car?
I drive a great deal, and what I appreciate about the car is the sense of calm and quiet it provides. Its performance is excellent, too. Since I often drive longer distances, I also make extensive use of the driving assistance systems. It is very convenient, and after a full day behind the wheel, I feel less tired than I used to.

What attracted you to the EV Lounge community?
I am a member of several electric car groups, but this is probably the only one where discussions remain factual and focused on the subject. The people in it actually drive these cars and know them well, and they deal with similar issues. It is a very pleasant and friendly environment.

And what do you like about the EV Lounge Meet Ups?
They are great events with great people. The participants have the same cars and talk to one another in a very relaxed and natural way. It is genuinely enjoyable. And here in Hradec, I obviously had a blast doing the skid-control training. It is something you would not normally get to try, not even in a car park. The rest of the programme was excellent, too.

Has any of the new Peaq or Epiq models caught your eye?
Although there are only three of us in the family, I like the idea of buying the Peaq as our next car. It is a large car, and I like comfort. What is more, having tried it out, I found that its equipment features and driver assistance systems are once again a step ahead of those in my own car, and I find that appealing.

Ivo Pooters, Belgium

Car: Enyaq iV 60
Model year: 2021
Current mileage (approx.): 110,000 km

The radiation protection expert bought his Enyaq back in 2021. "Cars were unavailable at the time because of the pandemic, and I called just about every dealer in the country. In the end, I managed to find a single available Enyaq. It was one of the first examples in Belgium," says Ivo. The electric car convinced him so thoroughly that he subsequently bought another, smaller electric car from the Volkswagen Group for his family. He appreciates the savings on fuel as well as the hassle-free operation of the car.

What do you like about your car?
We often go on long trips. We have travelled to Denmark, Sweden, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and other countries in our Enyaq. I have found that the car's smaller battery does not limit us in any way. We can cover around 250 kilometres in one go, and by then the children need to stretch their legs a little anyway.

What attracted you to the EV Lounge community?
It is very interesting to observe how other people use their cars, what they do with them and what kinds of issues they deal with. Part of it is entertaining, and part of it is very educational. I try to be very active in the community. Whenever I can, I answer other users' questions and try to offer advice. I enjoy doing that.

And what do you like about the EV Lounge Meet Ups?
I get to meet some great people here. Everyone loves their cars, and people are generally very friendly. We share a common interest, but at the same time, it is a very diverse community because we all come from different places, have different jobs and so on.

Have any of the new Peaq or Epiq models caught your eye?
We are a family of five, and as the children grow older, we need more and more space, partly because the hobbies we have also require more room. So, I would really like to have the Peaq as our next family car. I find both the Peaq and the Epiq very enjoyable to drive, and they are cars I really like.

Tero Revonmäki, Finland

Car: Enyaq RS
Model year: 2024
Current mileage (approx.): 30,000 km

The Finnish community manager drives a top-of-the-range Enyaq RS, which is already his second Škoda electric car. "Before that, I had an Enyaq 80. I liked it, so when the model range was updated, I ordered the RS version," Tero says with a smile. He drives the car every day and occasionally takes the whole family on trips from southern Finland all the way beyond the Arctic Circle. He is currently considering whether a smaller electric car might be better suited to his needs.

What do you like about your car?
I like bold colours, so I ordered my Enyaq RS in Mamba Green. Naturally, I also like the power of my car, although I cannot make full use of it in everyday traffic. That is one of the reasons why I am considering switching to a smaller electric car in the future. The Enyaq is more than large enough for the four of us and our small dog; a smaller car would be sufficient for us. The same applies to the driving range. Even when we travel long distances, we still stop roughly every 200 kilometres, so charging is not a problem.

What attracted you to the EV Lounge community?
I have been a member of the community for around two and a half years, and I have to say that, as a community manager myself, I really like the way Škoda works with the community and listens to its members and asks for their opinions. That is also one of the reasons why I have become so fond of EV Lounge. Of course, the fact that the community members are very friendly also plays a part.

And what do you like about the EV Lounge Meet Ups?
The event in Hradec is the third gathering I have attended, and I am fascinated by how the standard keeps improving. The previous events were great, too, but this one has taken things a little further again. What is great is that I can talk in person not only to other members but, above all, directly to people from the car manufacturer. And I can ask them some really difficult questions.

Have any of the new Peaq or Epiq models caught your eye?
The Peaq has excellent seats and feels like a truly luxurious car. However, it is unnecessarily large for my needs, so I am looking more towards the other end of the range. The Epiq is very agile and drives nicely, while being surprisingly spacious for its size. I am thinking that, as my next car, it would not actually involve much of a compromise compared with my current one.
