Electric powertrain: two battery sizes and four performance variants

› Entry-level model with rear motor and rear-wheel drive, plus more powerful models with two motors and all-wheel drive
› Battery capacity of 62 kWh or 82 kWh producing power outputs from 132 kW* to 220 kW**
› Outstanding aerodynamics with a cd of 0.234 and adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control as an option

Mladá Boleslav, 7 March 2022 – There are four powertrain variants and two battery sizes for the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV, with outputs ranging from 132 kW* to 220 kW**. Two variants are equipped with a rear motor, making them rear-wheel-drive, while the other two variants feature two electric motors driving all four wheels. The outstanding aerodynamics boasting a drag coefficient (cd) of 0.234 also contribute to high levels of efficiency, enabling a range of more than 540 km*** in the WLTP cycle. This, as well as the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV’s fast-charging capability, means that the car is perfectly suitable for long distances.

Like the ENYAQ iV SUV, the new ENYAQ COUPÉ iV is also based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform. They are the only MEB-based models in Europe to be produced outside of Germany, at ŠKODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, and are also the first modern-day ŠKODA vehicles with a rear motor and rear-wheel drive. The more powerful variants of the new coupé are fitted with two electric motors making them four-wheel-drive.

Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 62 kWh or 82 kWh

The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV features a lithium-ion battery that is fully incorporated into the vehicle’s underbody. There is a choice of two battery sizes. The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 60 is the entry-level model and features a 62-kWh battery with a net capacity of 58 kWh. The electric motor is incorporated in the rear axle and drives the rear wheels with an output of 132 kW*. The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80 comes with a rear motor producing 150 kW*. Here, ŠKODA uses the larger battery with a capacity of 82 kWh (net: 77 kWh). The range is more than 540 km*** in the WLTP cycle – the largest in the model series.

The all-wheel-drive ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80x and ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV come with two motors

Featuring a second electric motor on the front axle, the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80x and the top-end model, the ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV, transfer their power to the road via all-wheel drive. They are fitted with the larger 82-kWh battery. The system output of the two motors is 195 kW** for the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80x and 220 kW** for the ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV. As a result, ŠKODA’s first all-electric RS model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h. For the other coupé models, the top speed is 160 km/h. Both all-wheel-drive variants are permitted to tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1,400 kg on gradients of up to 8%, while the maximum towing capacity for the two variants with rear-motor configuration is 1,200 kg.

New software enables even faster charging capability: from 10 to 80% in just 29 minutes

Thanks to the latest ME3 software, all the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV batteries are capable of a fast charging capacity of up to 120 kW for the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 60 and up to 135 kW for the all-wheel-drive models. This means that the 82-kWh battery of the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80 can be charged from 10 to 80% in just 29 minutes. Using an AC ŠKODA iV Charger wall box delivering up to 11 kW, the car can be conveniently charged overnight at home in six to eight hours (depending on the battery size). ‘Refuelling’ at a public AC charging point with the same maximum power will take about as long. That’s why the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV comes with a Mode 3 charging cable as standard. It can also be charged with 2.3 kW using a conventional 230-volt household socket and an optional Mode 2 cable. Maximum flexibility is offered by the optional iV universal charger – a mobile solution with interchangeable connector plugs. A CEE adapter enables charging with up to 11 kW using a 400-volt socket, while a Schuko adapter enables charging through household sockets.

Excellent aerodynamics for a large SUV coupé

The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV’s aerodynamics – at a drag coefficient (cd) of 0.234 – are outstanding for an SUV coupé of this size. They contribute significantly to the car’s exceptional efficiency and long range. Its cd value is even better than that of the ENYAQ iV. Clever solutions, such as an active cooling roller blind in the lower air inlet of the front bumper and numerous aerodynamic measures that specifically guide the airstream around the body or under the vehicle (for example, an optimised front apron, a covered underbody, air curtains and a rear spoiler) made it possible to achieve this top value. An optional heat pump for heating and air conditioning the interior enables even greater efficiency and a longer range.

Optional adaptive DCC and new driving mode for the all-wheel-drive variants

As the battery is incorporated into the underbody, the ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV’s centre of gravity is especially low. This makes driving particularly safe and ensures excellent handling. Adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) as well as a sports chassis that features a firmer suspension and has been lowered by 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear are both optional. The latter is a standard feature for the ENYAQ COUPÉ SPORTLINE iV and ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV, as is progressive steering. DCC continuously assesses the driving situation and adjusts damping and steering accordingly. The basic settings – Eco, Comfort, Normal and Sport – can be chosen in Driving Mode Select, while in the Individual mode, these can be fine-tuned using a slider. The all-wheel-drive ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80× and ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV offer an additional, new option, the Traction mode, which is intended for driving on dirt tracks and gravel or slippery surfaces and provides constant all-wheel drive at speeds of up to 20 km/h.

* Maximum power output may not be fully available. The power available in individual driving situations depends on various factors, such as the ambient temperature, the charge level and the temperature, condition or age of the high-voltage battery.

** Maximum electrical power of 195 kW and 220 kW respectively: maximum power determined in accordance with UN-GTR.21 that can be called up for a maximum of 30 seconds. The power available in individual driving situations depends on various factors such as the external temperature, the high-voltage battery’s physical age as well as its temperature, charge level and conditioning state. Maximum power can only be available if, in particular, the high-voltage battery’s temperature is between 23 and 50°C and its charge level exceeds 88%. If these parameters are not met, maximum power may not be available. The battery temperature can – to a certain degree – be influenced indirectly via the stationary air conditioning function, and the charge level can be set in the vehicle. The power currently available is shown on the vehicle’s driving performance screen. To maintain the high-voltage battery’s capacity in the best possible way, we recommend setting a charging target of 80% for daily use (this can be changed to 100% before long-distance journeys, for example).
