This radar-based assistance system prevents the driver from failing to notice a car in their blind spot.
Blind Spot Detect monitors an area that the driver is unable to control by looking into the rear-view mirrors and/or through the window. This area is determined by the car’s design, and cannot be completely eliminated.
The radars located in the rear part monitor the areas behind and beside the car. The system monitors the distance from the surrounding vehicles and their speed to decide whether or not it should warn the driver. By illuminating the LED symbol in the wing mirror, the BSD system warns the driver of vehicles in the blind spot or vehicles approaching from behind.
Blind Spot Detect is available for the ŠKODA FABIA, ŠKODA OCTAVIA, ŠKODA KAROQ and ŠKODA KODIAQ.
