The system warns the driver of rear traffic as they pull away from a row of perpendicularly parked vehicles (visually on the infotainment display/onboard computer display or acoustically), or, if the case so requires, intervenes proactively, i.e. stops the car.
The rear-bumper sensors (shared with the Blind Spot Detect system) monitor the movement of other vehicles.
When reversing out of parking bays, Rear Traffic Alert recognises vehicles approaching from the sides. An acoustic signal warns of an impending collision and the brakes are automatically applied if necessary.
Rear Traffic Alert is available for the ŠKODA FABIA (without automatic emergency braking function), ŠKODA SCALA, ŠKODA KAMIQ, ŠKODA OCTAVIA, ŠKODA SUPERB, ŠKODA KAROQ and ŠKODA KODIAQ.
